The Magnolia DX Association (MDXA) GoPack team plans to be QRV from Paramaribo, Suriname (PZ), South America from October 20-28, 2003. We will be operating from the QTH of Ramon, PZ5RA, who has graciously offered to open his home and station for the entire week. The team wishes to express our deep gratitude to Ramon for his generous gesture. During this week-long visit the MDXA GoPack will have two primary goals. The first will be to activate PZ5A (first ever 2x1 callsign issued by the Suriname authorities) as a Multi-Two entry in the 2003 CQWW SSB Contest. The second will be to provide major pre and post contest activity on CW, SSB and RTTY for all bands 10-160M using PZ5CQ (KD5CQT), PZ5FF (K2FF) and PZ5UE (W5UE). We will also be active on 6M as the band allows. A primary focus will be put on the low bands and WARC bands as we feel this may be where the biggest need is for PZ.

As with any undertaking of this size, the cost of making it a success is quite large. Team members are putting up between $1,500 - $2,000 each for travel expenses and additional equipment needed to complete the contest station. Various items (Kenwood TL-922A Amplifier, Yaesu YS-60 SWR/PWR meter, etc.) will be donated to PZ5RA's station after the trip is over. Therefore, donations from corporate sponsors, DX/Contesting clubs, MDXA club members, and other individual hams will be greatly appreciated. All donations will be recognized on this web site and/or on the full-color QSL card. Please contact our pilot station, Floyd, N5FG (pz5a@mdxa.org) to learn how you can help.
